"whatever the results might be, would not constitute

"any difficulty or even an awkwardness in Shanghai,

"where small international complications are dealt

"with daily.

"Mr Law points out that, in the draft Order, a

"China Company' is so defined as to expressly

"exclude 'Chima' companies limited by guarantee.

TT

The definition of Hong Kong Company on the

"draft Order also excludes them, and 'British Company'

"as defined in the draft would not presumably

"include any such companies to be formed hereafter.

"Such companies, limited by guarantee functioning

"only in China, exist, and will, as the Foreign Office "realises, probably increase in number once their "freedom from the provisions of the draft Order is

"realised by promoters. It is to be presumed that "some British Court is to have power to wind these

"companies up, when necessary; on any such winding

"up the situation which Mr Law wishes to avoid will

"arise."
